Bringing fresh thinking to smart organisations that dare to do better for women
Leaky talent pipeline to leadership?
Sticky floors in middle management jobs?
Impenetrable glass ceiling?
Persistent gender pay gap?
These are the issues that I help organisations understand and deal with.
For over 15 years I have been helping leaders and managers to change things in their organisations. To modernise workplace processes and practices and open up opportunities for women.
What I find is that everyone benefits, not just women.
I am an applied sociologist specialising in gender, work and employment. I analyse structures, processes, attitudes and cultures of organisations that influence how men and women behave and perform at work and in life. I am a professional management consultant with many years experience working with private sector clients, policy-makers, front-line public service providers and not-for-profit organisations about what, why, and how to change structures, systems and cultures to make work, work better.
I have helped many different organisations take a critical look at how HR and inclusion policies and processes work 'on the ground' and to design new ways of doing things that produce better outcomes. My deep expertise is in improving outcomes for women in employment and I have written a book on the subject. My book "The Balance Quest" will be published by Policy Press in 2018: the centenary of women's suffrage.
What I do really well is to unpick topics and issues about gender and inclusion that are complicated and sensitive and I generate insight that directs innovation and organisational change in very practical ways.
My services and recent projects are here.
