Our approach is different because it starts with a clear-eyed understanding of why leadership development often fails. Most programmes focus on what leaders know and what they can do. Adding knowledge, skills and behaviours. That matters, of course. But what determines whether someone truly steps into leadership is their psychological flexibility: how they think, how they process challenge, and how they make decisions under pressure.

The Method: A tailored journey, not an off-the-shelf programme

The Becoming Journey® isn't a fixed curriculum it's a multi-step journey tailored to the organisation and participant group. Dr Alison Maitland and Liz Walker lead the programme, supported by a diverse team of expert coaches. It can be delivered online, in-person, or via a blended approach and we recommend a timeline of 3-4 months.

Modules 1-3


Participants explore who they are as a leader, work through unhelpful patterns using ACT techniques, and begin building the peer relationships and coaching circles that will sustain them through the journey.
